About the event

Join the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association (CMLA) - BC Chapter for a webinar about your human rights. In light of the recent rise in Islamophobia, community members have growing concerns and questions about racism and anti-Muslim discrimination at work, in schools, and other settings.

This webinar will cover anti-discrimination laws and your rights, and legal resources available to support you.

Humera Jabir practices in the areas of constitutional and human rights law, and has worked in civilian oversight of policing. She has worked for several human rights organizations and is engaged in advocacy on equality rights, racial profiling, and systemic discrimination.

Afifa Hashimi practices labour, human rights, employment, and administrative law as an associate lawyer at Moore Edgar Lyster LLP. Afifa has served in several leadership roles in legal organizations, and has engaged in advocacy work. She works to advance human rights, intersectional racial and gender justice, and access to justice.
