Founded in 1998 the CMLA is a non profit association dedicated to promoting the objectives of self-identifying Muslim members of the legal profession. Our organization is includes muslim and law students, solo and small firm practitioners, lawyers at large firms, corporate counsel, lawyers serving all levels of government, academics, lawyers practising in the broader public sector, judges and other adjudicators, foreign-trained lawyers and non-practising lawyers, who are located across Canada.

The Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association was founded in Ontario in 1998. Over the years it has worked to expand membership across the country. It has led our work in legal advoacy and founded the first Muslim Legal Clinic in Canada - The Muslim Legal Support Centre of Ontario
